No Means No!

Lets talk about Sexual Assualt

If you were to go onto Google right now, you would see article after article of accusations of some sort of sexual assault. Its almost crazy to me how its almost normal. At one point people were afraid to even speak up and now more an more people are coming forward. As a survivor myself I know hard it is to come foward. The fear that no one will believe you, or they’ll blame you makes it almost impossible. For some tips on how to talk to someone who’s been a victim click here.

People hear about victims and find out that the assailant went to prison or died or even got away and think that’s it but people dont talk about how it mentally affects people. Many people who have been victims suffer with anxiety, ptsd, depression and other mental health problems. When it happens to a person at a young age it can also change the way a person thinks and behaves. I personally feel like what happened to me warped the way i see the world. Its hard to trust people and I have a hard time holding down any type of relationships. Its a constant battle and it wasn’t until i got real help that I learned how to really cope with it.

If you or anyone you know has been sexually assaulted, take a stand, dont let ur abuser get away with it because your afraid. Its better to tell then be afraid your whole life.
